TAGGED by the Couple Questionnaire

What is his name? Clint Candland Karren, aka Sparky (meh heh heh)
How long have you been together? Including dating: over 2 years. Married: 7 months.
How long did you date? Little over a year and a half
How old his he? 24
Who eats more? Oh embarrassing. Clint, but it’s close. Good thing Clint really is a scarfer because I’ve never seen another chic tuck it in like I can!!!
Who said I love you first? Clint. I was so sassy my fired response was: “Now how can you know something like that?” Took me another coupla months to come around! Poor Clinters.
Who is taller? Clint, by 4”-5”. I can wear my heels and he’s still taller! Yessss!
Who can sing better? You mean who’s more willing? Me.
Who is smarter? Doy, Clint. I’m a child in a 23-yr-old body.
Who does the laundry? Both of us, but Clint’s the one who gets his laundry folded and put away before the next time we do laundry.
Who pays the bills? Wellllll……Both of us, I guess. It’s split kind of weirdly spontaneous right now because we still haven’t worked out the kinks with how to manage our bank accounts with being married and all. I know, get on it already, right?
Who sleeps on the right side? I’m to Clint’s right, but I always get up on the wrong side.
Who mows the lawn? Ha ha. No lawn…yet. But I imagine I’ll help do it for exercise and for getting a tan!
Who cooks dinner? Mostly me. I don’t know why though because I botch it up more often than Clint ever has and he can make anything he decides to try.
Who is more stubborn? Wow, um…Gut reaction is to say myself, but when I’m with Clint…I always swing his way.
Who kissed who first? Clint. Even more amazing because it was our second date (first date was blind) and it was a pretty swift first-time kiss for the both of us! =) He dropped me off and hugged me what seemed like forever in the driveway until it dawned on me that he was going to go for it! I was okay with that. =)

Who asked who out first? Technically, my dad. Ha ha. After 6+ months of prepping Clint with jokes about how ugly his daughter is, my Dad gave Clint my phone number and a couple days later, I got a call.
Who proposed? Clint.
Who has more friends? Definitely Clint.
Who is more sensitive? Wow, I’ll give you one guess only!
Who has more siblings? Well, if we’re married, isn’t it technically the same??? Okay okay…Clint.
Who wears the pants? We actually have not had this conversation. Hmm. I prefer to quote “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” in which the mother says, “The man may be the head, but the woman is the neck, and she can turn the head any way she wants.”

OUR FAVORITE PIZZA PLACES

As many of you know........Clint & I are pizza heads. We love checking out new places. So we decided to make a list to help ourselves keep track of where we've been and, you know...in case someone out there feels game for a new pizza place. I've included links to each of the pizza places, too. Just click on the name of the restaurant to go to the website.

MASTER TOP 10 LIST

Mmm! Get the twisty breadsticks.

2. The Pie

Of course a classic. Clint would put this one at #1 but it can be a little greasy for me. I think my name is actually on the wall in there somewhere...

Mmm... check out the website--their pizzas look irresistible! They're perhaps a little more on the expensive end--about $10 for a little personal pizza--but they're great if you want to share with someone who doesn't have a raving appetite for pizza like Clint or me!
Come here if you're looking for a romantic pizza place. One of those tucked away, well-kept secrets of Salt Lake City. Small, cozy interior with cross-hatched beams decorated with vines and always a live band/guitarist on weekend nights. Clint & I even got free breadsticks one night. (I think our server was momentarily disoriented! But we ate them anyway. Mmm.)
If you're ever in Provo, you know, because it is such a wonderful town (GACK) then stop by...it's worth it if you're in the area.

6. Litza’s Pizza

Personal favorite of mine since I was a kid. (Although, the Greek columns and artwork sometimes confuse me. I didn't know Greeks had such a claim to pizza-making...)

VERY reasonably priced, build-your-own pizzas here. You get to choose 4 gourmet toppings for I think it was a 14" pizza for about $10. If you can get past the smell of fish, you'll love it. Actually, even I got over the smell of fish once I had piping hot, Italian-spiced pizza in front of me!

A little greasy for my taste (I think I went through 5 or 6 paper towels per slice. Okay, so not really. But almost...), but of course cheesy and huge and Clint loved it. Only one pizza size fits all--18". The set up was a little weird so if you go, you do actually seat yourself at one of the tables and wait for your server to come to you. But THEN you go to the counter to pay. Clint & I weren't impressed with the confusing service. But the pizza made up for it.
Very yummy. I believe in their commercials.

Another personal fav!!! Used to be one of my favorite hang-outs in high school. But it's more of a family joint. Kinda old fashioned atmosphere.

Honorable Mention: Main Street Pizza & Noodle (in Park City), Citris Grill, Smoky Mountain Pizza and Pasta, & Sundried Pizza.

Honorable Mention for take-out: Wasatch Pizza
We are of course open to new recommendations! Hmmm.......I have an idea to encourage this... MY TURN TO START A TAG!!!!!!!!!!!! NAME YOUR TOP 10 RESTAURANTS (pizza or otherwise): Annie, Jessica, Shelly, Cameo.........ummmm that's all I guess! Ready GO!!!

THIS EDITION OF "NEFF'S CANYON: MAGICAL WINTER JOURNEYS" MADE POSSIBLE BY SHELLY SNOWSHOE BENEFACTORS, INC

Saturday Clint and I took off to Neff's Canyon. We needed fresh air and the forecast informed us that it would be a perfect day. Although not as sunny as predicted, it was a beautiful day...

Here I am being inspired by the forested winter wilderness of trees. When I imagine magical, thick woods with labyrinthal paths and hidden nooks around every corner, THIS is the kind of forest I imagine.

The snow up Neff's canyon was incredibly deep. Check out this sign post as a reference point!

Yes! We conquered! If I look mad in this picture, it's because I am. The last half hour or so of this hike was a BEAST. Clint laughed at me because I began cursing everything in my path and muttering things like "I can take this mountain I've hiked worse hikes than this stupid bloody mountain stupid jutting tree stumps I can conquer you..." So we celebrated our victory at the top with fruit snacks and looked forward to MolcaSalsa afterward. Mmmm...

Hahaha! Clint ran into a tree! (That's why I made him go first.) But don't worry, I went off the path plenty of times. Actually, here are just a few instances...

Omigosh, the sled ride down was awesome! We kept passing people on the trail who eyed our sleds very enviously and one guy even said," I'll trade you some candy for that sled." It would take a lot more than that, bucko! We were so sad Brett and Jessica couldn't make it this time, and Clint kept saying, "Oh man, Brett would love this!" Here are some videos of the ride. These are some less extreme portions of the run...at one point near the bottom, I hit a ramp that gave me about a foot or so of air and then nearly propelled me into a group of trees. Unfortunately, Clinters was behind me with the camera...

Check out other recently posted snowshoeing extravaganzas up Red Pine on January 12th and Bells Canyon on January 26th.

DID YOU VOTE?

Sandy, UT: At approximately 6:oo p.m. Mountain Time, local Wasatch front resident Samantha Karren went to her polling place at Willow Canyon Elementary school to cast her ballot in the 2008 Presidential Primary. A dogged patriot and fellow "Great American," Samantha decided to make the drive from her BYU French class all the way to the polling site without even cooking dinner for her husband first. Shocking!

When questioned about the experience, her husband Clint Karren openly admits: "I had just gone home from an 8-hour work day, and I knew Sam wanted to vote, so I decided to get to work on homework rather than make dinner for myself. I'm complete incapable of taking care of my own nutritional needs without Sam. In fact, I'm useless without her! I rely on her for everything; she's an amazing, caring person and a wonderful home-maker!" Mr. Karren managed to survive the evening of Super Tuesday, February 5, however. He even showed interest later that night as results from many of the polling states were broadcasted live on ABC4. Thankfully, by that time, Sam had returned to their home and prepared an excellent gourmet meal of frozen chicken nuggets, Western Family Mac & Cheese, and frozen peas & carrots, finished off with Clint's personal favorite: Orange Pineapple Banana concentrate from Old Orchard. The best!

Mrs. Karren's experience at the polls was positive, due to the fact that voters had only one decision to make and lines at the elementary school were generally nonexistent. She does ask, however, that no one report her for not re-registering as a Draper resident and voting at the precinct where she resided as a single dependent to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milne. When questioned about her balloting experience, Mrs. Karren had this to say: "Of course I was excited to vote! I've been more interested in this election than any other, simply because I've gotten older, more independent, and have had more time to keep myself informed on relevant issues like health care, education, immigration, and international affairs. "

Mrs. Karren demonstrated impressive competency in discussing issues of the campaign and openly admitted her favorite candidate: "Yeah, Mitt Romney first attracted my attention because of the fact that he's Mormon, sure. And I realize I'm part of the uncontested majority, but...I have to say that the more I've looked into the issues, the more I've realized that Romney is the most well-rounded, capable candidate with the most favorable stance on each of these issues. " Sam also relates her experience with talk radio: "I commute a ton every day, so I have lots of time to listen to the radio. My favorite station is 102.7 and I like the Doug Wright show and the Sean Hannity show. They're very informative. Witty, too. Check it out," she encouraged others.

Mrs. Karren also proudly toted her large, red "I voted" sticker on her cheek all the way back home from her polling location. (Unfortunately no picture available at this time due to Mr. Karren's hiding of the digital camera.) Sam finished up her interview with this statement: "Clint didn't vote yesterday on Super Tuesday and I'm still trying to decide whether or not to forgive him. Do your patriotic duty and civil responsibility by getting informed, registering, and VOTING!!!"
